Frequently Asked Questions

We've been getting a lot of questions from interested applicants, so we're putting them together in a FAQ. We'll update this with more info in the next few days.

I'm not graduating until April/May. Is there flexibility in the start date?

Unfortunately, we can't change the start date. However, some of the positions are willing to be flexible in the number of hours per week for the first month or so (although you should still aim to do 20+ hours per week). Please apply and note in your cover letter (or a separate document) what sort of flexibility you might need.

Keep in mind that participants in the program have to complete 1700 hours of service between 3/30/15 and 1/30/16. Any hours that you miss at the beginning you will have to make up over the rest of your service term.

If you participate in the program, you should plan to attend orientation, which is 3/30-4/1. Members must attend orientation in order to participate in the program.

Here is a list of sites that are willing to discuss the possibility of flexible hours in the first month(ish):

Can't I just send you my resume and cover letter?

To be considered for the program you have to apply to specific positions through this website. You can find a list of available positions by clicking on "Current Openings" in the upper right hand area of this page. The application is more complicated than a cover letter/resume, which is why we need you to apply through the website.

I didn't upload the required attachments. Will I still be considered?

Your application will only be considered when all of the documents are present. If you forgot to upload documents, please contact us at americorps@ctnc.org.

You haven't answered my question. Who can I talk to?

Please feel free to reach out to us at americorps@ctnc.org. We're happy to answer your questions!
